We are surrounded by food. On every corner there are fast and convenience food stores. There are billboards with giant hamburgers as we drive down the road. We cannot turn on the television without seeing a commercial for a restaurant, fast food, or the latest great buy at the supermarket. Our children beg for candy bars and sugar laden cereals. We cannot seem to escape all this food.

Most of this food is over processed, chemically enhanced, preservative loaded food. These foods are not as nature intended them. They are stripped of their fiber and wholesome vitamins and minerals. Many come with labels of fortified. This is simply that the vitamins and minerals are put back in after being stripped by processing.

Eating a more natural unprocessed food has calcium hmb overdose benefits. Stripping our diet of chemicals, preservatives and added saturated fats and sugars will improve our health greatly.

Eat whole raw foods. These are just as nature planned. Fresh off the vine, tree or dug up out of the ground. Most vegetables can be consumed in their raw state. Fruits are at their very best when consumed fresh and natural.

If you have to cook your food do it wisely. Steaming is a wonderful way to cook vegetables. It helps them to retain much of their vitamins and minerals. Baking and slow cooking are also healthful ways to cook.

If you must fry something use healthy oils, such as olive oil. It has it's own health benefits. Avoid higher heat as heat also destroys valuable nutrients.

When baking use whole grains that are as unprocessed as possible. Consider getting a grain mill and grinding your own grains. This will allow you to use fresh grains. You can grind them just before use and be assured of their quality and freshness.

When seasoning your food avoid that salt shaker. Use fresh herbs when possible to add the flavor to your dishes. You can also purchase quality dried herbs. There are many out there, experiment and see which your favorites are.

When purchasing meats, go for an organic or natural brand. Make sure your meat is from a reliable healthy source. Avoid buying meats where animals are given harmful hormones. Beef, poultry, pork and lamb are available hormone free.
